RMAS December Commissioning Ball

Having won the contract to event manage and stage the Commissioning Balls for the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in June 2010, we successfully delivered our first August Commissioning Ball for the Officer Cadets, exceeding all expectations.

The task now in hand was to produce a stunning backdrop based on a ‘Winter Wonderland’ theme for the December Commissioning Ball and to show the RMAS our true potential as an Event Company in our capabilities of creating and delivering a truly breathtaking setting. We didn’t disappoint...

The falling of snow during the afternoon of Friday 17th December may have caused havoc on the roads and caused delays with deliveries and entertainers all getting to us, but everything was still in place in plenty of time for guest arrival and the snow certainly set the scene beautifully:

• A Christmas Tree forest in the entrance marquee welcomed guests as they entered the main structure at 8.00 pm.
• An Ice Prince and Devil Stilt Walker entertained guests upon arrival, along with an Ice Juggler and Fire Eater.
• Snowflake balloons were utilised as table centres and Camelot Ice Chairs for guest seating.
• Colour wash lighting effects created the most amazing effects throughout the ivory lined marquee walls and ceiling.
• Polar Bears and icicles were used to enhance the Casino Table setting.
• Ice white sofas created a ‘chill-out’ area for guests and illuminated poser tables added to the overall room effect.
• Clear panelled roofing in the Dance Floor & Stage Marquee allowed guests to watch from inside the spectacular firework display fired to music by the current British Firework Champions.
• Black Star Lit Cloth over a Diamond Shape Black & White Dance Floor with a LED wall created a stunning backdrop for all the entertainment.
• Dodgems, a Shooting Gallery and an Ice Rink all kept the guests entertained outside with Roasted Chestnuts & Mulled Wine to keep the cold at bay.
• Killer Queen filled the dance floor with the likes of Bohemiem Rhapsody, It’s a Kind of Magic, Radio Ga Ga and many more with our fabulous singers and superb DJ bringing proceedings to a close at 2.00 am.

Plans are now well underway for the April Commissioning Ball and we look forward to bringing details of this event to you early Spring.
